I can't pass up a buddha...Andrea asks if he'll ever be able to unfold those legs: It's not easy! You may know this, but when you meditate for hours, the legs fall asleep, then they wake in various places, with waves of discomfort moving through your muscles, sometimes feeling very very strange; then numbness again. And when you stand, oh boy, you have to move slowly...Very adept people---who've developed real physical attainment---can get up faster. But for most people, you get up slowwwwwly. Your legs need to become 'conscious' again. Otherwise it's straight out of the Marx Brothers ("I don't have a leg to stand on"---and boom! You're on the floor...)

Anyway, your sense of hue is paramount here. Love the mixes of bleached stone with those deep brick reds, and the reddish yellow shadows in the background, and the light you bring out in the verticals above the buddha. (I think that's light from behind the fence.) You coax out all kinds of subtle lights in your work, and in this piece it makes it vibrant and very full. A gentle feast. You do buddhas proud in your images.
