Our Parks and Gardens works do a wonderful job, and we are very proud of them.
This old tree has been carefully looked after for many years, as have all the many hundreds in the departments care, but they are constantly fighting against vandalism.

personally, I think the vandals should a) work on restoration projects (the dirtier the better) and after they have completed, oh say, 1500 hours, they should have their hands broken as a gentle reminder that they did wrong. Or else, put the hooligans in stocks and let the public see and punish them as the public sees fit - the only limit on the punishment is that they can't be killed

I love old trees. Such character although this one has lost a few parts. And what sick person would poison trees?

It's lost a few branches but it's still got more grace and character than the vandals.

We have plenty of problems here in the good ole USA, but tree vandalism doesn't seem to be one of them. I say that quietly so as not to give anybody any ideas. This one does look very well cared for!
