I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

Welcome back to the fold, Rod. Seems rather odd that the BIOS can't let you adjust boot sequence. That sort of thing should be basic. :/ Should make more sense than, eh, "covfefe..."
Tempestt: [rolls her eyes] My ears are gonna bleed if I hear any more mention of "covfefe!"

images looks great! Thanks for the updates! I see you can connect the usbs on the top of the computer. perfect place to install the hub I told you about (drawback on the hub is it has a 1 foot cable but on top of the machine. it's a perfect length. I got mine through Amazon - good luck

Hi Rod, check your external drives as most proprietary ones have boot software built in and this is what causes the issue. Also if any of them have backup software that will trigger the issue also - especially on newer computers...
Hope this helps as I just went through the same boot problems with USB 3 drives myself.
RodS Online Now!
Thanks for the info on that! I'll definitely check it out!

Nice PC. Looks like can hold multiple GPUs Rod ;) . I think the TNA Girls will love the new PC.
Btw. you can also try disabling the USB drive boot in the BIOS. That way even if you have the USB attached it will boot only from the hard disk.

Congratulations on the new machine! It always makes life easier to have something new and faster.

I have plans on updating my computer and was looking at a CyberpowerPC Gamer Supreme Desktop 32GB Memory, 480GB SSD + 3TB HDD Hard Drive, but not sure how it would handle Poser or how I could handle the premium price
hope you get the kinks out

Looks like your back in control with a killer new system, Rod. TnT can't wait to see a new T.N.A. series soon with your newbie. Congrats on it bro. Unsure on tips myself.

Looks good. But, no sonic screwdriver? I could never assemble a system without one. Curious about your BIOS and boot sequence. Some BIOS' allow you to disable USB boot altogether - but not through the Boot menu. Look through some of the more obscure sections of any Advance section which may be present.

Ah ha, something new for us to see first hand come along next fall during our annual visit to Kansas City. This looks very professional...quite an upgrade over my 1996 Dell...that's the last one I had even approaching the size of your new baby. Makes me absolutely marvel over the advances during just the last 21 years, let alone since about 1981 when I saw my first PC. (IBM as I recall)

Congrats!!!!

Good luck with the new computer! Things will work out since we know you won't stop until everything runs smooth and perfect!!

Glad for you :-). The boot sequence is easily configured if you enter the mother-board setting - it prompts the hot-key for that (Ctrl-F8 am not sure) for a couple of seconds after the PS is switched on.

That images looks great! :)

Bill and I just sat down and watched all five of your BTS entries so far. SO glad we didn't wait until there were ... like ... 20 of them! LOL! It was fun to see what you've been up to. It's so much like sitting in the Lair with you, that I found myself responding to what you were saying, nodding my head, wanting to interrupt and ask a question ... so! A job well done! Congrats on the new machine. I know you hate it as much as anyone hates their new computer! It's the definition of mixed feelings. "This is gonna be great!" But also, "This isn't going to be great until I do a LOT of seriously tedious work!"
Planning our fall trip already. :) We're looking at the first week or so of October. We'll keep you posted!

I watched the videos, with sound, and appreciate your talent for technical self expression.

Glad to hear things are looking up. That is definitely a bug if it is defaulting to your USB. I know in Windows machines you can go in set up the order for booting, but it sounds like you did that. I've never heard of that brand of computer either, so I don't know.

Really nice work station ! ! !

Absolutely fantastic !!!

It's good to see that you have that "Beast" up an running, with some issues but that's to be expected!... can't wait to see what great work you put out with this "beast" of a computer! not to mention the system your building up... I think Ranpha and crew may have to stop by...
I've seen all the behind the scenes... and I think they're GREAT! keep um coming

I'll get to your other work soon, but I wanted to make another appearance and I chose this because of all the work you've done for your studio. I can't believe how much you know, how you re-build computers, and know how to network all this equipment. And you're doing it in your spare time too. I've seen all your BTS's, and loved every one. The last ones---where you put in the new beast---were great to see. And yeah, that new unit looks like it juuuust fit in that space under the table. (Didn't you have to remove a shelf down there? Did I dream that? I gotta go back and look...)
The USB interference (during startup) is cross platform: I get it on my Mac. The tech people said it had to do with the startup process thinking the USB input 'could be a startup drive'. Even with no drive in the hub. (I assume you're using a hub or something similar.) I too found that I had to connect it during sessions only: Otherwise, the Mac just sits, spinning its wheels. Maybe the computer companies will find a fix. It's a pain.
I admire all you've done with this. You have to really know what you're doing. And I love the easy nature of your speech, in your videos, how you invite us in, with your fast-motion sections, the music (where you use it), the drone shots, and so on. And though I haven't commented yet (I've had a few instances of ID theft, and became gun-shy re commenting by name in a lot of places), I'm loving what you've posted.
I also want to thank you for your comments, you're one of a handful of people who keep me at it, esp at writing; I have appreciated every word. I don't expect it---and it's fine when people don't give it---but when I get what I've gotten from you, I'm thrilled. I wish you all the best with this transition, and look forward to your retirement. Thanks again, Rod! (Tara and Bill are visiting in Oct? I don't wanna crash anyone, but even if I stayed in a motel, maybe I'd try to drop by. We'll visit one of these days, regardless.)

I am jealous!! I thought I was doing good without my Area 51 Alien! Congrats on your new system!
