Story / Description :
The story continues from the last render....
This time it was the drone that swept by and immediately Miho moved to the 2nd sheer cliff wall and started climbing. She had to be more careful when reaching the top as the top of this wall was visible from the hill the lab was on. And though Miho had again remotely hacked all the cameras pointing this way so that they did not appear of the camera live feed, any of the mercenaries or other staff who turned their head this way would see her and then the element of surprise would be gone and a all out fight would break out o this cliff which would become extremely problematic for us.
Again I sent out the silent drone after Miho to see how she was doing. I was very concerned that she was climbing the sheer cliffs without any gears and when the drone caught up with her, my jaw dropped to the floor and I blurted out "OMG !" There she was hanging from the rock face and she looked as though she was having fun ! My heart missed a lot of beats. This girl was going to give me a heart attack and kill me even before we got to the lab ! I just looked on in admiration with my mouth open and within moments she was up on top of the second cliff wall. Miho crouched low and took out her ultra tech binoculars. It had the ability to pin point people even behind 20 meter thick lead walls. She surveyed the hill area. Satisfied that no one was looking at where she was, she kept low and again sent down the rope and we repeated the process of getting the gear up first and then the wolf and then me. We all kept low and slowly moved towards the other edge. This was the critical part. Now we had to get gear and us down fast and still stay undetected. The hill where the lab was was in full view. Again I went first. Miho tied the rope around me and basically dropped me all the way until I was almost down and then she slowed the rope down to a point that I gently touched the ground. It was like free falling. It had taken a second or two but felt like a lifetime. Miho then pulled up the rope, tied it the around the wolf like a harness and dropped the wolf to the valley floor next to me. I think that was the most frightening experience the wolf ever had. But well there was no time to take things slow and easy. Next Miho dropped off the gears next to me and the wolf and then she again gingerly climb down the cliff face. Looking at her I thought her hands must be made up of super glue or something like that.... It was an amazing sight to see her move from rock to rock and sometimes leap from rock to rock all the while moving down the cliff at an incredible pace and not once did she slip or miss her mark. We again hid among the boulders. It was time to go up the final sheer wall of the hill. While we waited for the helicopter / drone to fly by again, we decided to go over the schematics of this lab once more which we had gotten from the deep scan of this place Miho had run from her satellite. It was the same technology we had used to scan the other underground lab which we had shut down.
Miho had decided to attack during the day because that is when they least expected it. During the multiple day satellite surveillance we had done of this place before we came here, we had seen that during nights the number of mercenaries on guard outside the lab more than quadrupled which would have made things a lot more difficult for a night attack. We had so far avoided the detection and so her plan of the day attack was working so far... And then we heard a helicopter coming nearer instead of the drone. It was flying pretty low.... My heart started to beat faster. Had they detected us somehow ? If it had been a drone flying by, it would not have been much of a problem because Miho could hack its camera feed but people in the helicopter relying on their eyes and looking through binoculars was a different matter. Miho put her finger on her lips and we kept still... The helicopter came in really low and it landed nearby... Voices could be heard..... People had gotten off it.....
The story will continue with the next render....
About this render :
Well, once I started this story with my previous render, I had to do a scene of Miho climbing the sheer rock face of the cliff. So the above is what I came up with. In fact I think I have wanted to do this scene for a long time and I guess in this story I am telling it fits very well . Again this was a simple scene setup. I used the rock face I used in my last render and then added another instance of it. I placed them in such a way as to show the outer cliff wall we had climbed over and the second cliff wall we were climbing. I then posed Miho hanging from the rock face.
Had to do a bit of ZBrush work on the bag and straps and hair to make sure then looked natural and to clear out all the poke through. The bag was a real pain. It distorted like crazy. It is a Genesis based bag. Anyway, once everything was taken care off, the scene looked good.
Btw. can any of you see a 'screaming' face / creature face along the edge of the rock face ? Open mouth, teeth showing, nose looks like flaring and eyes kind of winching ? I think I am seeing it and I was surprised by it. Probably just the camera angle. Its like seeing faces in the clouds. It is above Miho's right knee and to the left along the edge of the rock. Just above the top edge of the background cliff. It is small. Not sure if it looks like a face to you or not.
Useful information :
I am not sure how many of you have ever used the 'Active Pose Tool' in Daz Studio. It can really help to pose a character naturally. Needs a bit of practice though. I have used it many many times and it is one of my favorite tools in Daz Studio. I used it here to stretch Miho's right arm and make it look like she was hanging from the rock she was holding on to. This tool allows you to anchor parts of the body so that the movement does not affect those parts of the body. If you have not explored it, try it out. It's fun. Just start with a character with the pose set to default and then pull any of the character's hands or feet and see how it moves. That will give you the idea as to how you can use it. You can select any body part with the tool active and then hit the space bar to anchor that part. Pressing space bar with the anchored part selected will un-anchor it.
