Oh man. I would LOVE to be there, in theory! It would take you a year to get me out of that place with my camera. I'm thoroughly envious of your visit. The chances of me getting back to someplace at that elevation, though, are slim and none. What a gorgeous and fascinating photograph!

This is a very iconic image, Bob. The dirt road, ocre color and apparent lack of modern conveniences make this a timeless place that could be anywhere. I'm with Tara, I would love to explore this place.

I am also fascinated with these iconic and enchanting living quarters and would love to explore more... of this amazing culture; in modern terms, it looks more like abstract minimalism, but perfectly in tune and harmony with it's surrounds. I am in awe Bob, thanks for sharing this image... 🏜

Fantastic capture Bob and interesting background info. Some years ago, actually in November 1986, I came back from the Air Force NCO Academy and drove through the back country of the area starting near Los Alamos. I had chains on a Nissan pick-up and drove through the mountains, following my nose and came out near Cuba, From there I drove back in the direction of Albuquerque. On the way I passed several pueblos and one, I think it was the Zia Pueblo. I drove through and occasionally took a picture. Not until I looped around and was on my way out did I see the sign 'No pictures'. I felt like a criminal.
