Bakersfield motel
someone I know when he was here for a short time
,even though speaking very fluent English,
American slang and partial words was an issue
he met a fellow countryman and he asked him where do you work.
the acquaintance said State Farm. well, he literally believed
that he was working on a farm.
another person told him that he was working the "graveyard" without
mentioning shift. he took it that the man was working in a graveyard.
he felt sorry for both having undesirable work. His wife straightened him out.
he told me one day about both. I was reminded this evening
