Description
Passing an "Old Testament Ship" one of the "Splendid Cats" shows its speed in the North Sea. Jackie Fisher father of the modern Royal Navy called the battle ships the "Old Testament ships" He christened the battle cruisers the "New Testament ships". Admiral David Beatty called them the "splendid cats" as the lead ship of the class was the HMS Lion. The ship in the background is the HMS Hercules.
