Description
Yep been gone for a while. Pretty much gave up on art, as I just have problems with my new video card not being supported or in Octane case not working all that well. I tried the new DAZ Studio hoping it would correct problems but alas it is even slower. As you can see from the render from Octane the road actually looks like muddy water in the full scale picture. Funny in that water is the one texture that Ocatne just can not seem to duplicate from DAZ. The Road was a brand new prop from DAZ at the time. Something in it actually makes octane do a fair representation of water, just wish I could figure out what that is . I did do a DAZ render of what it supposed to look like, which I will also post. Sorry I have not been around nor even check our Rendo in months. I got all the material to continue my war with RodS and to capture that other artist as promised but just tumbled into the pit of despair after not being able to render anything like I wanted to anymore. A Poser tech informed me that Poser has fixed the problem with my card he thinks as he operates a P4000 card which to my knowledge was not even available when I made my purchase. I guess I will give it a try but all my new stuff only works in DAZ...sigh

That must have been a pain. If you want to do water in Octane, just use a specular material, set, the IOR to 1.33, reflection to .94 and transmission to 1. Use a scattering medium and set the absorption to the opposite of the color of water you want (unless you set the invert in which case you can set it to what the color of water you want. Play with the density of the medium to add density to the water.

Glad you're back, Rick. DAZ jumped a generation while you were away. Maybe Vicky 8's genetics can revive your vampire Mistress, as she's currentlyβ a trophy in G4's office.
As for these two cuties, trouble's written all over them. ;)

hi! its good to see you here. this image looks ok and the characters are cute and well posed but only you know what you wanted it to look like. I got frustrated with poser art and started posting more photos and fractals. please don't give up, find a way to express yourself and keep on posting; I love your art.

Damn! Good to see you back, brother! I was just about to send out a drone swarm to track you down.... I love your two cuties here - the one on the right looks particularly ornery... My kind of gal! LOL
Oh, jeeze.... All I need now is the Vampire Wars to fire back up.... As if I don't have enough trouble being trapped in Kim Flung Poo land with Dan and the Girls, and the Divas and T.N.A. Asgard unit about to drop a MOAB in our laps.... See what happens when you're away? Everything just goes straight down the flusher!
I feel your pain, buddy! My main Poser machine decided to chuck it's hard drive last month... Fortunately I have everything backed up (been burned too many times..). Got a replacement machine (will rebuild the old one later), and it's been a fun journey getting all these persnickety machines to stop squabbling like a roomfull of 4-year-olds, but all is working smoothly now. Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath, step back for a bit, then show the bloody things who's boss...
I was gonna say you ought to chat with Rajib re: Octane, but I see he's already on the ball with things.
Good to see you back, Rick! Your friends are here for you, buddy!
