Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I think the background is perfect. Yoga is a green activity and life is messy anyway.

I like the stretching of yoga poses, and have tried on more than one occasion to learn a few with some success. However, in class, they always want you to "flow" from one pose to the next to the next, which is more like calisthenics than it is like stretching! I takes me a while to learn a series of movements like that, so I'm always lost, can't see the teacher well enough, and finally give up. (They get you in a pose where your face is on the ground, and then say, "look at me to see what your proper pose should be." I can't maintain the pose AND turn my head far enough around to see what they want me to see, so I'm always straining in the wrong direction.)
Ah well. I'm sure you didn't come here to hear all about my lack of success in yoga classes.
Christel must be tall. When I put my arm straight up in the air, the bend of my elbow is just below the top of my head!!
