Description
That RodS is currently off-line; a major thunderstorm came through their area Saturday night and knock out power and cable; they were able to get power back on in short order HOWEVER cable is still out. So he asked the queen to let all of you know of his situation

Everything is up and running except Comcast - hope to have that taken care of in the next day or two (I'm at work ATM..). This is the 3rd time in the last month and a half.... I'm starting to get tired of this....

when I had cable/and years ago, it was normal to lose service during a lighting storm.

Sad to hear of storm damage and the effects on our human infrastructures! It points out very rapidly how vulnerable we are to the whims of nature! I see above RodS is getting closer to returning to the net on his own but having to use an alternative access point for now! His area of the globe seems to be a focal point for Mother Nature's fury! Hope she tires of persecuting him and finds some other more worthy target.
