“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

If only they could talk!!!
blinkings
Great find, but I would have enjoyed them more straight out of the camera!

A great subject for all sorts of experimental postwork. Most enjoyable.

interesting scene! I find it a shame when tools are cast aside

I like the postwork & composition, Bill, but I kind of agree with blinkings on this one...

This is my weakest link. I do not do still life. This is composed very well Bill, and I like the post work.

This is a really beautiful - and at the same time, sadly moving photo, Bill! I love old tools like these, and in a way, I feel for them. As if they had feelings... Sheesh, if I keep looking at these, I'm gonna change my mind about retiring... (just kidding... I can't wait!)

One could say the same for the workmen who used them. A metaphor for our times. I still have my late father's tools. Not nearly as good with them as he was.

Very nice capture Bill. I also like the postwork very much.

I have been crazy about tools every since I had to work on my cars(model years from the 40's,50's, and 60's) in the 60's and 70's. after that I had no training for smog equipment. I sold 3 pickup loads of tools that I had no need anymore.
I like your lighting here and use of monochrome
sossy
a capture of lostness and sad expression 🙄

It's a shame when we no longer use stuff, and it all stops abruptly, they are left to rust and rot, if they could talk, imagine the damned interesting stories they'd have to tell eh mate? Solid work Bill!!

Looks like a good abstract. Bravo.
