Description
Back from a short trip that included Portland, Bend & Crater Lake, with a few stops in between. This was taken along the Wahclella Falls trail, one of our favorite hikes along the Columbia River Gorge. This vegetation is growing in a shaded area below a cliff...

This stuff is a nightmare to get rid of if it appears in a garden! So pretty in your photo and safely far away from me!

Horsetail ferns. Yikes! They are beautiful, but don't make any plans to get rid of them. They're prehistoric ... a relic from another time. When the cockroaches have all died off, there will still be horsetail ferns. I've seen them growing up through a tiny crack in an asphalt surface. Your picture is gorgeous ... all of the beauty and none of the pain!
