Description

I have become a huge fan of tone mapping. To think, I was once a hater of post work. But I recognize that difficult lighting can make for some lackluster images. I would like everyone's honest opinion. This image is tone mapped. I saw this road in Wales off the main road and it caught my eye. I will post the untreated image next. THANK YOU!

This has been done really well ive seen so many tone maped images that look over done and too obvious .This may well look how the scene did to your eyes at the time you took the photo.its also a very pleasant scene too by the way

I think you did a wonderful job. It is as beautiful, as I can imagine, I saw the world in my childhood. What should be wrong about some "Darkroom Work" ? Love it !

I don't know what tone mapping means, but I like this result. I look forward to the original to compare.

You call it tone mapping, I simply call it 'personal artistic expression' ! You've done a super job on this isolated country road somewhere in Cymru. Postwork can be subtle or highly visible, for me it is like a painter's brush, it's a tool that should be used not systematically, but when needed, for the sake of your own sensitiveness, depending on when, where, what and why you want this to look as such... 👍

Very nice work Fred.
Maybe you could decrease the green tones a bit and increase the orange and red tones. I would also increase the sharpness a bit.
Just my 2 cents. Nevertheless, it is a very nice photo

The tone mapping can wake a shot up indeed, I like how it has served to provide contrast in areas lacking in the SOOC shot, that said though mate, unmapped shot is still A!
