Lend A Hand? by KatesFriend

Happy Friday! Well it is one week until payday and I have no money - fortunately everything is payed for and I have one bottle of wine in the refrigerator. This is what we call a "five week month" in my line of work. But enough griping, Vivian requires assistance. Thanks as always for stopping by my gallery and having a look. Sorry, still no nudity.
Sometimes lighting takes ages to get right. Other times it just falls into place. Poser's indirect lighting feature is a definite factor that enhances the quality of renderings. I highly recommend trying it out even though it requires the building of a more complete and mostly unseen set. Of coarse this will increase the required time and memory for set up on top of the additional rendering duration. But I'm also getting clever at placing diffuse light reflectors (hi-res cloth panels, coloured diffuse white) out of camera shot, this works well and it is not too removed from how lighting directors light a scene. And in Poser, you can quickly scale such panels and make them reflect more light than they receive - so much for the first law of thermodynamics. You can also parent the panels to a camera allowing it to move while always keeping the reflectors out of the frame.

Those paychecks aren't made of rubber, are they? Kinda hard to get them to stretch sometimes...
I'd be honored to lend Vivian a hand - but this darn monitor keeps getting in the way...
Yeah, indirect lighting is pretty cool... Having done some studio lighting for models' portfolios, I love playing around with using primitives like boxes as big softboxes... Cranking up the ambient value and moving them around can give you that wonderful "wrap around" lighting. Of course, yes - it tends to 'crank up' the render times, especially for a complex scene. And I tend to render large which doesn't help! This has very nice side lighting.

Great one. I hear you about money!! Amazing that a lot of great V3 stuff is so very accessible now. She's still a wonderful high-value 3D resource in my opinion and one can, as you do, make stunning and relevant art with her. Compared to Victoria 4 to 8, as my wife Gracie says, "fifty yards on a galloping horse", you're not going to see a whole lot of difference in the final renderings.
