Description

This is another one of my scenes from science-fiction films that don't exist. If you can hear the rattle and hum of the vehicle's engines, the moan of the wind battering around it, and the squeal of its energy torpedo as it fires, then I have done my job. There's a lot of postwork and retexturizing going on here. Software I used included Filter Forge, GIMP, and Lo-Fi. The Piranha is one of those older Daz models that might not look totally out of place in the original Star Wars trilogy, which is why I like it. Enjoy!

Really nice. Yup, all those old models from Daz need is a new texture and they are as good as new and can fit into any modern sci-fi scene. I have a habit of buying old models when they are around $1.99 or less. Re-texturing them is not a problem.

Beautifully done. The waving in the air, is maybe what is going on, when a super Piranha is passing in very high spees? :)

The way I imagine it, those are similar to mirage heat waves. The Piranha, as I think of it, is an older ship that's been highly customized under the hood. If it were a car, it wouldn't be street legal. :) And some of that technology would heat the air around it, creating those types of waves. The Piranha would be very risky and dangerous to use. But where's the fun in using a state-of-the-art machine in a cyberpunk story?

That used look! That's why I always preferred Star Wars (and the original Alien, omg... the Nostromo gotta be one of the filthiest ships ever... and I love it) over the ever-so-clean Star Trek vessels.

This hits the spot exactly! And if this was in the Star Wars universe, I'd bet the pilot would be one badass bounty hunter! Great image, now I miss the old Star Wars Galaxies days... good ol' times. :)

Thank you all for your thoughts and comments. Older vehicles are still very useful if time is taken to soup up their textures.
