Description

This is a manipulation of an image taken about 4 years ago. I was in the parking lot of a Best Buy store where I was looking for a 300mm lens for my Nikon D40X camera. I had been wanting to take photos of birds and needed a longer lens. I took my camera with me in order to take some photos with the longer lens. I took several identical shots (using identical settings) inside the store using my 200mm lens and the store's 300mm lens. I wanted to see what the differences were. I left the store without making a purchase and halfway to my vehicle I saw this immature Grackle strutting around the concrete parking lot with a flock of maybe 15 other Grackles. I had my camera (with 200mm lens attached) in my hand so I raised it, focused it and took a shot. When I downloaded this image, I realized I had not changed any of the settings which had been used for the interior comparison shots. Since the bird shot was taken outside at mid-day and the interior shots had been set up for much darker conditions and under artificial lights, the bird shot was vastly over exposed. It took a fair amount of tweaking to even get a usable image. All comments are appreciated. Lee
