Well, what do you think it looks like? And they are still around, causing a lot of pain, agony and death!
Have you figured it out yet?
Initially this was great at scaring horses and people! BANG! BANG!
You get it now? Primitive guns and artillery! But, as these developed, castles were no longer a protection – cannon did in their walls. And guns shot through chain mail and armor.
Our dear knight treated us to a good BANG!
Fortunately, no horses around, nor frightened humans!
Enjoy (although you can't hear the BANG!)

Well, I wasn't too far off! LOL I doubt if those primitive firearms had any level of accuracy, but I'm sure they shook up a few battlefields.

I was fortunate to go to a medieval festival in a medieval castle at Sierck-les-Bains (Moselle, France). I had a great time and see a lot of people dressed in medieval fashion. Great capture and narrative.
