Description
Fitting shoes and boots to figures they weren't originally created/rigged for in DAZ Studio has often been a disappointing process for me.
Wouldn't it be great if we could use VWD for the really nasty ones, or the ones that just don't look good (enough)?
So I tried to fit and pose some really old fire fighter boots for M4 by Billy-T to G2M using VWD, just to see what would come out of it.
Those boots consist of a number of separate, unwelded meshes, so they were a perfect test for the 'neighborhood' (or proximity) rigidity method that makes VWD so unique.
And, no real surprise, it did splendidly!

Nice ! VWD crashes for me every time so don't use it anymore.

Strange, did you try the latest version too? When pushing things REALLY hard it occasionally crashes on my PC, but with 'normal' stuff it doesn't anymore. It still is a 32-bit application, it can only handle a modest amount of data because of that, we'll have to be considerate with it until it is fully rewritten using more modern programming tools. Fingers crossed that won't take too long, then it will really fly : )
