Now for the tournament! Horses! Knights in armor! All you grown up children (and little children) have dreamed of!
This years story is about St. George and the Dragon!
To the right is a knight of the dreadful dragon (Smaug?) in black.
In the middle we have the Knight of the Cross, belonging to St. George.
To the left we have knight Moon Sliver, also belonging to St. George.
Two of these knights are quite hefty in size, so their horses must be strong!
Are they out for a leisurely Saturday afternoon ride?
Definitely NOT! What they are doing is checking the ground for evenness. It’s very dangerous having a horse slip and slide or, worse, fall on uneven ground! Many of the French knights died, crushed, in the Battle of Crecy and the battle of Azincourt, by falling horses.
ENJOY!

Very nice. I think though I would not like all the heavy clothing.

As if charging at each other with big, pointy sticks isn't enough to worry about.... That must have been a brutal way to spend a sunny afternoon! I'd almost rather take my chances with Smaug. Almost...
Great photo, Michael!
