Description

Captured 6/21/2011. Not really an actual lighthouse but a posh restaurant sitting at the rim of beautiful Rainbow Harbor in beautiful south Long Beach, California. Could have fooled me, I thought it was a real lighthouse at first. This is so bizarre. I won't even try to guess the seating arrangements. Anyway, the lighthouse sits across the bay from the Aquarium of the Pacific. And you can see the top of the smokestacks of the Queen Mary liner over to the right.

Like it Harry...easy to identify sunny California. Could have fooled me about this place too. I am big on lighthouses and we've visited many in Oregon and Washington. We even picked up several in Maine last year.

That does look like a lighthouse. I wonder if the food is any good.

Hey, Harry, I'll do real comments soon, but I wanted to at least show my face here, since it's been a few weeks. (And I'll write soon too, to see how you're doing.) I've much enjoyed your riches of marine photos, with their deep marine hues and patterns and dappled light. And I was so intrigued by this photo, I looked it up online: The restaurant---at least accdg to the site---is in some structure to the side of the lighthouse. It's a lower, longer structure. If they actually have seating in the lighthouse---well, I agree, it's hard to imagine what it looks like. Anyway, the shot is crystal clear, I love the trees lining it in front, and the smokestacks of that big boat to the right, sticking out above the landline. And that clear sky too. A strange, clean oasis...I hope you're holding up (I read that you're getting huge heat waves now, to add to your health). I hope you're doing ok with everything. I'll be back soon. Take care of yourself...
