Raised as a farmgirl hidden in the far North by a farmer family. and with the mentor and teacher from the age of six, Pentwahir. Learning laws, history and from nine practising weaponry daily to be prepared to fulfill her coming role as monarch of the mighty Kingdom of Korr. She is wise and confident and empatic. Her "weak" spot as growing up as a somewhat boyish girl is Nightshade.." Millie the Mouse (also unseen): ..Now it's me: " Nightshade Woodborn the crown's ranger in the North and thereby the law in these lands, has been her secret protector with his people most of Iphis life without she knew it. He saved Iphis from drowning as a child and since then she looked for who this person was. Nightshade is twice as old but Iphis is attracted to him, both admiring his somewhat stoic calmness and other times annoyed at the same. But as Darkhawk said to Iphis: If you annoyed with a man just because he is who he is, then ask why?.. Nightshade Woodborn, already mentioned a little, he and his people helped to secure the way to the throne in a divided kingdome with rivalring nobles and rich merchants and especially the Secretary of Counsil, the usurpator, Alarik. Nightshade, who shares the father with Darkhawk, doesn't know who this is. Darkhawk whith her sharp senses found quickly out when meeting him that they were related. She loves and teases her brother in a kindly way. Darkhawk also helps mediating relations between Iphis and him. For the two young women become very close friends. Nightshade is at first reluctant but slowly they find together. Nightshade is long a mystery for Iphis but she learns her to be a woman..: Millie: Oh, so lovely.. Mr. Missy (also unseen): Yeah, very cute.. Millie: What?!.. Mr. Missy: Sorry..eh, let me see: "But the story also deals with other parts than fighting internal and external enemies conspiring against Iphis and the Kingdom. Something passed 800 years ago and the story slowly turns into a saga of two familie's relations. Pentwahir is the focus here because this wizard is over 800 years old. Kind and mild and befriends the light elves in the east in their land Ventrauil. He is very knowing but Iphis feels he does not tell all though he still stay a loyal adviser for her. Darkhawk teasingly calls Penwahir "uncle" - why? So the Sevaril story also turns into a detective story where Iphis tries to reveal and understand herself and the world she is living in. Millie: Interesting - and Rhana mentioning: "Darkhawk is unconventionel as seen in her practical clothings, Iphis here a bit unwilling at first in a dress but keeping the magical sword Sevaril at her side and still with her good boots, avoiding female torturing small shoes. Nightshade in more official outfit than daily and far right Pentwahir in a elven clothing except the hat... Mattie: The cat?..Must be the royal cat. He watches which of the two seats he is going to choose, heh..
