Excellent job of trying something!!! It worked well!!!

great character, very detailed and has the great kung fu movie feel to him. I think its the back ground that is to soft compared to the main figure maybe?

The scene is spot on K! Only thing I might do is play with the lighting. Like a glowing sphere light in his hands and a darker background with torch light on either side of the dragon. No pressure, lol...

First of all the character is great! The background is very impressive too but I think it would work better with this character if it were less busy, maybe add some dof in the background and emphasize the character with more dramatic lighting like rhol_figment said.

I like what you've created! the image poses an interesting question - is the dragon a friend or a foe?

No apologies required. It's a great scene. I love it. Am intrigued that you chose to post it under "Religious" works. I think that makes the whole package come together quite nicely and it gives us the proper context under which we can appreciate this work. 5+++

Splendid !

The busy busy background might be what is giving you pause, he gets lost in it a little bit.

Wow, what a character! The pose and facial expressions are spot on! Like others mentioned, the background is a bit busy. Maybe drop the dragon completely and add a bit more blur to the backdrop. Lightwise, not sure. I think I'd go for a light from below (adds spookyness), or above the guy, just slightly to the left or right. Would give his face even more personality due to the shadows such a light would create.
Wow, I'm such a wise-ass xD Now kill me.
