" Damn that evil plant ! "
After several hours thinning these plants, I threw my wet and pin cushioned shirt aside ***,
finding that bare skin announces a needle touch far quicker than penetrated clothing. Supposedly,
it is a flowering plant, which remains to be seen, but the drainage ditch needed clearing and fallen, rooted
"porcupine plants" needed thinning for improved air circulation. Briars through soles of rubber shoes
is also interesting, but we will save that for another time. Nature keeps your attention well.
*** When Yucca needles penetrate fabric, they lock in at the deepest point, becoming tiny spears,
with each movement of one's body redirecting a different angle of skin contact.
Thank you, everyone who is posting during this Summer lull, which should pull in some Winter
creativity from Australia and New Zealand, and maybe a few by those who dare travel around "The Horn" in Winter.

Thinning yucca has been educational, an interesting way to spend a few hours in 94' heat, with 72% humidity and slight breeze from the South. I have successfully arranged for the removal of my debris pile, and look forward to another "project" soon. I appreciate the views and comments, and always look forward to seeing new postings by our Renderosity community.

Well, now I don't feel so bad for having a partly fallen tree in the backyard from the last storm! At least it doesn't try to kill me with living knife blades! Cool photo, Kenn - those are some tall yuccas!

They grow to a certain height, fueled by sunlight, then fall and root themselves ... light travelers
