The dragon and his knights have not given up yet! The leader of the black knights challenges St. George to a joust with long lances! Oh! My! How will this end?
This is quite dangerous. The point is to hit your opponent’s shield in such a way you break your lance against it. The broken lance and its mark on the shield determine who is the winner. The lances here are very long and designed to break at the middle to avoid any injury.
This fellows horse was rather frisky, so I was wondering how this would turn out!
King Henry II of France died of a splinter from his opponents lance, which passed through his helmet's visor and into his brain. So this is NO risk free sport! So, let's see how this goes!
Enjoy? Or chewing your finger nails? I was chewing my camera strap! :-)

Death by splinter? Ouch ‼️
T.Rex
It was a big splinter, or rather, fragment. After his death, jousting was forbidden in France.

Galloping full speed at each other with long sticks pointed at each other..... Yeah, sounds like a good time..... I can hear them saying "You're gonna put out someone's eye...."
Great photos, Michael!
