good capture! the spikes might be the last of it's pupa stage. baby ladybugs are spiky. but I'm just guessing.

Nice closeup, Richard! Don't know what they are - I don't think I've ever seen this on a ladybug.... But then, I've not been this close-up to the little critters.. LOL
