Nice photo of the statue and the corner of the Louvre. I was there several times in 1968 but today I can't figure out which corner you've photographed! More photos, please! Keep up the good work! :-)

Well, I used Google Earth to find that building. Couldn't find it. Looks like a Louvre building, but I now think it's part of the 'Jardin des Tuileries', which is adjacent to the Louvre grounds.
Alas, I should dig up that geographical coordinates logger I have for my Canon.

Though I've never been to France, I studied the Louvre in all its incarnations (going back to the Middle Ages, when it was a castle), and this is indeed part of the Louvre. That is, the building on the left is part of the Louvre. It's a Pavillion of one name or another. (de Flora, Flore---I don't remember...But it's online, I'm sure.) You caught the edge of it, with those typical steep Mansard roofs, and all that ornament and statuary on its facades. But---you caught it from the vantage point of a lone woman (statue) with an animal. A dog, I think. So that big crowded facade is, in fact, a rich 'side-thought', as you captured the broad open lawn and the statuary as the 'key subject'. Fascinating angles in this, with more buildings behind, and the bush-lines, etc. You have a good eye for architecture, and the way it shapes an environment. A very fine picture.
