Continuing the story of newsgirl Kelsey. An eventful day in the investigation of a crime boss led all too quickly to a personal meeting with the boss himself at a speakeasy. He offered her a job after having her strip for him. Once she accepted he told her to get dressed and had a driver take her to one of his hotels where she would have a free room. “I take good care of the girls who work for me,” he explained. Expecting to spend several days on the hunt, Kelsey had packed a suitcase and checked it at the railroad station to go along with her ‘new girl in town’ cover story. The crime boss wasn’t fooled one bit but he has the driver take her the station for her suitcase before bringing her to the hotel. The driver carries her suitcase for her as he shows her into the hotel lobby. “These people may be dangerous criminals but they are very polite about it,” is going through her mind as she stands on the hotel steps.
