Nœud gordien, nœud inextricable qui attachait le joug au timon du char du roi de Phrygie, Gordias. (La domination du monde était promise à celui qui le dénouerait. Alexandre le trancha.)
A Gordian knot, an inextricable knot which tied the yoke to the shackle of the chariot of the King of Phrygia, Gordias. (The domination of the world was promised to him who would untie him.) Alexander cut him short.
