after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve
i enjoy working with poser, i have such a dinosaur version i use, (p6) wish i had poser 2012 at least. i also use photoshop 7 for most of my work i post here. but more so photography is my main passion, just hope to get a camera again someday.
p.s. not sure how high of a res pic i'm using for this page. take care and thanks a million you all.

I did not really know I knew the word "abattoir" until I stared down a wide street in Baltimore at a sign for a Hog Slaughterhouse. Sure, I knew Wolschlagers ran the slaughter house on the road past the dump in Bad Axe where I grew up but a real literary metaphysical form like Poe called up in imagery. You had to be there! Now it's cover girl stuff. Well researched in ghostly hummus!

I just don't understand why you don't do this for a living. They are always such a delight.

You got Poe's feeling, only you added great machinery and gigantic gears and huge clock, etc. And she stands on a big precipice, it seems, with a real sense of danger. Also---as always---your clothing and armor detail is consummate; as is that wild, wild headdress. (Like she's wired to pick up signals from Mars!) And---as always---you've composed this very well, as a mag cover: I love how she breaks into the cover, off center; I love how she pushes the "Gurlz" up a bit, as if she says "outa my way". And how the light comes from behind her and lights up the piece...Instead of making a straight-forward scene from Poe's story, you made a highly complex, visually collided scene, with all kinds of gears and detail, with that pendulum cutting into the whole piece with a blade the size of a freakin' car. And you have your usual play and deftness with fonts, etc. You have to be the best, on this site, for magazine covers. I did stuff like this for a living, way back, but I never came up with ideas like this. Terrific, Steve. First rate job all around.
