Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

A lot of rich folks there. Wonder what they do for a living? A rrof over the motor boats - how do the sail boats get past that? Tricky navigating? I like the reflections in the calm water. Keep up the good work! :-)
My rat-ing - 6 happy rats gnawing on lanyards!

Nice shot Bill... I see so may boats docked here... nobody seems to go out... they sit in them and drink all day! its a waste to me. Just my opinion.

I agree Fred. I'd rather have the latest camera gear:)

You don't have to be rich to be a sailor. I trained on thirteen foot open sailboats known as "Flying Juniors". You haven't lived until you have sailed San Francisco Bay when the wind is blowing off the Golden Gate.

at Lake Texoma there was a marina fire the other day that destroyed millions of dollars worth of boats up to 40 feet yachts.
I am always drawn to marinas dreaming again

Wonderful shot of the marina, Bill! I'll take your word for the number, at least until after the cataract thing.... LOL

a must, full size...you have such clarity and presence in everything in your shots, and this one's loaded with them. The lines are pristine, the hues, ditto, and the music of your composition is wonderful. And behind, a tranquil stretch of water and background hills which give soft grace to balance out the din of lines and visual collisions of the marina. It's really a wonderful rat-a-tat-tat shot of boats and masts and piers and even that rock wall behind it all---just terrific, musically speaking. Splendid work with what could easily be just another crowded marina (or traffic) shot: In your hands, it sings.
