Description

If I had been on my own tour I would have driven right by this church. To me it was just another old, white-painted wooden church, but it was on the agenda and so we stopped. And I am glad we did. It didn't look to me like it was much, the brochure calls it quaint, I would call it plain But the inside looked fantastic. I am not sure I would call it a 'cathedral', after all I am used to the stone edifices the church erected throughout Europe during the Middle Ages , But it was beautiful, but I don't know if it was Gothic, I don't know much about that. To me it looked more what I would imagine a Russian-Orthodox church would look like, maybe because it was all wood. This picture was taken on 10 June 2017, Sig...

It's considered to be Neo-Gothic. Steep pitched roofs and pointed arches.

This is a terrific shot, showing off the volume of the building. I'm glad you stopped ... this is wonderful!

Outstanding craftsmanship...all that gorgeous wood. The lighting is low but you managed to still make the details visible. Well done.

It's really beautiful. The term "cathedral," btw, has nothing to do with the size or architectural style of the building; it means that a bishop was assigned there and not just a regular priest.
