Description
Just an alley...
Please zoom.
I'm back for a couple of comments in each of your galleries. I hope to be back for more in August.
I need more rest, but it's great to comment again, and sit with your images.
I wish you all a wonderful rest of July, and thanks again for all your care and visits!
Peace and inspiration,
Mark
(Not trying to freak anyone out with this 'dark alley'---just like to explore the gritty, mysterious 'backside' of a huge city...)

I am impressed! This picture is so talkative and telling me so much stories!
Faemike55
this is a place that at night, holds secrets that man should not explore, daemons and angels fold court as to who gets who's soul. in the daylight, it's another story for another time. maybe soon, maybe not
great photo and nice idea

An common location, but a haunting, narrow, uninviting space that we all encounter occasionally. Excellent work!

the height of this photo is great for showing off the tall and confining space of this alley. lots of depth, lines and textures make this such an interesting view.

I absolutely LOVE this!

An amazing maze of multi piped claustrophobic confinement at its most explicit in this startling capture of Chicago tenement fire escapes. Give me a break and get me out of here! This holds much impact on me because I live in such a wide open expanse of a city with rarely any buildings over four stories, in fact, mostly just one story. That said, a terrific shot under tight conditions of light and dark contrasts, with vertical and zigzag geometric patterns for sharp emphasis, Mark. Be well.

I love stuff like this! What a great vertical piece, Mark - and you've managed to cover not only the ground close in, but you have me looking up to the point my neck is getting a kink in it! LOL. I'd better look down to see what I'm about to stumble over!
I really love the dark, gritty look, and the postwork here is wonderful - it adds a lovely graphic touch. Great stuff, my man!
It's always good to see you back for however long - or short - those visits may be. Now, get some rest, buddy!

That's mighty thin and cool walkway, Mark. This is a picture perfect shot my friend. I agree with Rod on the looking up, does make you stretch the neck a bit. Thanks for sharing my friend. Hope you feel better, R&R is more important then comments.

Talk about vertical art! What great composition and crop. There is a handsome similarity between this very objective, beautifully postworked photo and the vertical subjective color abstracts I see in my minds eye every time I think about your gallery. Have you ever thought of shooting maybe three panels similar to this and mounting them thematically? Three alleys, three tall, skinny trees, three church spires... Oh, the possibilities are limited only by one's imagination. Very inspirational Mark. And thanks for swinging by may gallery...always enjoy your comments immensely.

I like Bill's idea. I think it has potential. This one is a superb image but not one for the claustrophobic as the walls seem to be closing in. I've seen so much urban grunge in my life that I have developed urban grudge but you've turned it into fine art. Take care and don't overexert.

My goodness is this impressing!!!!If you leave your eye from bottom to top, the patterns, colors (blue, green red, a.s.o.), strength and depth are so surprising, and impressive. It seems like something that can not exist at all. The pattern on the lower right side is also so special. I would think, it's a very intriguing image, as a cover for a book, a thriller, of course. Perhaps with a title of: "Subterranean life, caught"? The top is emboss I suspect, and you can see the steps, something that reminds me of a picture that Tara once put here on RR. But still, I love the mystery of the bottom, also that beautiful red color, which appears on the left side of the wall. (And, my friend, I hope you aren't chocked after 'opening' my mail).

Wonderful perspective. Looks like an explorer's dream, would be totally cool if the buildings were all derelict and ready to be explored. The mood and atmosphere is of an adventure about to begin. Great shot!

Reminds of gangways in the old neighborhood on the southside. A fine pov.

A spiral staircase in an alley! What a fabulous visual oxymoron. Elegance and grit, soaring upward motion and city-dirty walls, smoothness and visual chop. This is terrific!

Missed this one as I was traveling when you posted it, but luckily found it on LWITG. I kept scrolling & scrolling & it just kept going. A wonderful vertical panorama with great color tones, textures & light...
