Oh, one of the happy fellows who enjoys communicating in the middle of the night. The ones outside my apartment often wake me after midnight. I wonder why? And they have a wide vocabulary. I wonder what they're saying to each other. This is a darned good photo. And he just sat there, letting you take the photo. He must be a bit tame, as are some of the ones here. Keep up the good work! :-)

When I was a boy, I would see flocks of red-winged blackbirds and I thought them the most attractive birds on earth (I was very young). Over the next forty years or so, the flocks simply disappeared. I haven't seen a single red-winged blackbird in perhaps thirty years. I believe they are on the endangered species list. To put the matter simply, this beautiful and expertly composed photograph of my number-one-all-time-absolute-one-and-only favourite bird is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Black feathers are one of the most challenging things to photograph that I can think of, and you have acquitted yourself marvelously! This is a spectacular shot.
