Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I actually prefer this version. You gave it a wonderfully vintage look. Sorry to hear about Ralph's continued decline. Poor old boy, I hope he makes it through the summer.

Like the mono. Meadow is the same as Ralph, she never misses a trick though.

If Tiffany does enjoy her little swims, she probably won't tell you. Our Mandy was very close mouthed about that sort of thing:) Like your fisherman...mono always draws my attention.

I've wanted to comment on this, because of how you illuminated sepia. I always approach sepia with trepidation, because it's not easy to make it 'sing'. It saturates everything. But man, you got luminance here---it's in the original, but all the moreso here. I love the lights here; and your softness allows the lights to be like 'thoughts'. The fisherman's line is the connection between one bank and the other, and your handling of the stones around him make it seem like a fairy tale path in the middle of a lush forest. If he were in medieval attire, this could be scene from a fairy tale. Beautiful composition and handling of sepia. Beautiful lights throughout. A dream.
