Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Antique planes AND cars? How much suffering can a man take? Looks like a nice group. Some fine specimens.

A great shot and nice to see the old 'vints'.

an accidental find of a car show always makes the day. there is a pickup here with the same color that makes the shows here as the one in your picture

A memorable shot Bill!

Well, knowing what troopers you and Tara are, I'm sure you patiently waded through all those antique cars with nary a complaint! And probably a good number of photos, too - you know, just to make the cars' owners feel good.
Wonderful shot, Bill! Have you two made it to Oshkosh yet? Lots of flying things there this week.

I would have loved the photo ops, but am glad you and Steve got to go have a plane day out. :)

Great shot Bill. The weather reminds me of when I was stationed there - grey skies. Of course now it looks inviting!

I just lost my whole comment, so I'll start over...(ugh! my server crashed momentarily!) Full size, it's a sweeping capture of those huge shed walls, contrasted (in their drabness and 'matte-ness') with the beautiful shimmering light on the cars. You captured those car hues in all their chrome glory, like lights shining on the area. They have real presence. And they stand in utter contrast with the matte, dull walls of those sheds behind them. Fine contrast and sweep. And you have that mountain in the left background, to flush nature into the whole scene. Beautiful job with what appears to be a difficult shot to work with...and the drab light of this day---grayish throughout---is brought to life by those amazing chrome highlights...
