Description

I tried rendering Gen8 for the first time, and it took forever. 3 hours, 53 minutes, and 41 seconds to be exact. 5000 iterations at 50% convergence ratio. I don't know is it because of Gen8, scene, lighting, clothing, any combination of afore mentioned, or just my ineptness with Daz. I'd place my bet on the latter. However, with all that said, I just LOVE PowerPose on Gen8.

Your best render yet, I think. As for why it took forever, the two factors I can think of immediately are texture sizes and your render output size. Depending on what machine you own, Iray can be on the slow side. That's why I still use 3DL as my machine is not a top-of-the-line demon customized for hi-rez graphics work.

Thanks! Gen8 does look really, really good based on what I've seen other people do. I got curious about how Gen8 affects performance, and did a test with an earlier work (Gen3) which had been considerably faster to render. While I don't have exact numbers, I don't feel that there is any significant difference between Gen3 and Gen8. I run i5-7500 processor with GTX1080, and 16Gb of RAM. It's not the best of the best of the best, but has enough grunt for gaming in decent settings as well for Photoshop and Lightroom.
