Description
Corvin Drittsekk
Twenty-seven years prior, on a farm on the outskirts of a village few can name, a Drow raid resulted in the slaughter of a family no one will ever remember. The sole survivor, the eldest daughter, clung to life, if not her sanity. Through the pity and skill of the village priestess, the girl survived and many months later gave birth to a half-breed bastard boy, and reminder of her past and its brutal end.
The boy became the focus of the young woman’s grief and slowly loosening grip on sanity. Priestess and villagers alike looked away from the always silent boy with blood and scars upon his back.
Not one of them thought to investigate the day she took him into the forest on his seventh birthday. Not one knew which of them made the feral screams of rage that echoed among the trees and hills. And every one of them was relieved when neither was seen again.
It is unlikely any of the villagers will ever make the connection today between the silent bastard that once haunted their village and the tales of a half-Drow whom has found some measure of acceptance among the people of the Dalelands due to his efforts to protect and avenge them against the Drow with a cold fury that both inspires and terrifies.
---------------------------------
Three years passed before a ragged and nearly feral half-Drow child was brought by Harpers to a priestess of Eilistraee. Within him she saw the weapon he would become, and with the aid of passing Harpers, began his training, not as a Ranger, but as a Paladin of Eilistraee. A protector and avenger of those that cannot do so themselves against the Drow.
