Description
Quick test painting across Genesis Victoria 6 material zones in Substance Painter.
Simple fill layer, fabric material with displacement.
The trick I used for this is as follows:
step 1 - group all Genesis surfaces belonging to FACE, TORSO, or LIMBS in one of these three newly created Surfaces using DS geometry editor,
step 2 - export a base level OBJ (so without any SubDivision) with these new Surfaces.
step 3 - combine the FACE, TORSO, and LIMBS UV-islands into one new UV-map using an external UV-editor, I used 3dCoat for this,
step 4 - paint a new (single) 8k texture map set on the OBJ exported by 3dCoat in Substance Painter,
step 5 - split the exported maps back into separate FACE, TORSO, and LIMBS texture maps in Photoshop.
step 6 - assign those new maps to a Genesis figure in DAZ Studio, pose, and render.
