wow what a crowd... and exceptional scene setting work at play here

Fun. Flirty. Sexy. They're out there having fun, in the warm California sun... You've mastered energy and clutter. No one (and I mean NO ONE) does a busy scene as well as you do. The little details like the burgers next to the grill, the beer bottles in hand -- PERFECT! You make me smell the cocoa butter and sense the heat of the place and want to be there soaking up the rays while rebuffing advances from the hot dudes with the Daddy-Issues.

BUT... there's something missing in the body language this time. The redhead on the deck with the beer in hand should be slouched back against the wall, bottle lower in pose so it creates a phallic symbol next to his groin (his spine is just too upright). And the black guy leaning in, probably shouldn't be there. He's not adding to the seduction vignette you've created in this little corner of your party world. Next up, brown-haired dude to our left of the deck... he should be bent more at the waist, leaning over and flirting with our grill-master. I generally LOVE what you're doing, but in this case the guys are a little stiff (and not in a poppers -kinda way). The lounging guys look pretty good, though.

My last criticism is mixed with praise. I am THRILLED that you included the pets! So many scenes posted here at R'osity are lacking in that sort of real-world connection. But here, they're just sorta plopped into the scene. The cat I could expect to be just staring that the grill master, but the dog? I would expect him to be sitting up or betting in some capacity. I think they could add some humor to their tiny corner of the scene.

Okay, I'm obviously drinking (Irish Whiskey!) and am in an uber-critical mood. BUTT, I've looked at a dozen images tonight, and you are (as usual) the only one who entices me to write more than a few words. With every image I see, you get a little Closer to Fine (yup, slipped in an Indigo Girls reference). Even though this is a fantastic image (it's an 8 or 9), you are capable of an 11 or 12 (and yeah, I'm talking about a 10-point scale). That's what I love about your work – you always leave me wanting more!

I could stare at this image for hours, there is so much to see in it. Bravo!
