I remember from my stay in Switzerland 1966, there was a joke about high speed trains (TEE back then) in Switzerland - you scarcely had time to find your seat before it was time to get off at your destination! (Considering Switzerland being so small). I wonder how fast these can go, considering all the mountains and curves around them. Very good looking trains! Nice photo! Keep up the good work! :-)

Great capture of these beautiful trains. When it comes to trains the US is definitely 'third world'. In 2009 I did something different and instead of flying to Munich I flew to London and then took trains via Paris to Munich. As I was looking out the window as we went through the wintry French countryside, my GPS informed me that we were traveling at 197 mph. The drawback is that one doesn't have enough time anymore to eat a real meal on the train! I they would build trains like this in the US I would kiss the airline industry good by in a heartbeat!
