Description
Avro Shackleton Mk3 (Phase 3)
This beauty, served wit 5 squadrons, entering service in 1958. It was finally retired in Mid 1970's.
She is the only M3 now in existence. It is solely preserved by volunteer hands.
Crew : 10.
Max Speed : 302mph.
Range : 3,660 normal but longer with tanks.
Power : 4 x Griffon 57's 2,450 hp each, plus 2 Viper turbo jets auxiliary.

I saw one at a show in Essex, impressive, also there were lightnings and a Vulcan.. The same Vulcan that was flying until recently. She was the RAFs display aircraft. Ah, those memories...

I sure bet it roars with those props turning in opposite directions. Have never seen this plane before, but have seen the prop arrangement on some forgotten plane in the 1960s. And, aw....you mentioned Neil. Now I feel all sad again. Man, I STILL miss him!
