Description

It was very, very early in the morning in the field, that I saw this Six-spot burnet, who was just escaped out of it's pop. You can see the pop underneath, but my next upload will be that pop in macro. Dutch: St. Jansvlinder. Latin: Zygaena filipendulae. btw, the photo is from August 2016. Thank you very much for your lovely comments on my earlier upload, it's very much appreciated.

Your insect macros are always very clear, very vivid, and very beautiful. The red wings of this burnet stand out beautifully, in this shot. And they make great contrast with its black body. The pop is almost another insect (even though it's just a shell). And the background is a beautiful forest of stalks---in greens, browns and yellows. A beautiful shot, Jacomina. All your insect shots are.
