Description
Hypervigilance is often part of PTSD. For me, it goes much deeper than just scanning my surroundings. I am realizing that I also innately analyze people: body language, facial expressions, microexpressions, tone of voice, eye contact, etc. It's exhausting and I'd like to find the on/off switch as it would be nice to turn it on when I need it, and turn it off when I don't.

Stunning render!

This is intense! Love the subtle details like colours of light (the colder blue contrasts the warmer red nicely, though here the red is a colour of danger, even if it's not coming from the side that she seems afraid of). Her facial expression is fantastic, really ads to the feel of lurking danger around the character.
I don't know you, but to read about you experiencing similar situations and emotions to what you depicted here is hard. I'm in no position to ask what lead to your PTSD, but I do hope you find that switch, to make life a little easier. I take my bows for creating such an intense piece, but moreso for openly telling us about the background. All the best to you!

Thank you, X-TC. I don't usually "talk" about PTSD in my artwork, but I think I need to. I will say that I am an adult survivor of severe child abuse. At nearly 40 years old, and after spending nearly half of my life in and out of therapy, I am still working to kick this monster in the face and get it away from me. It really is a beast. I only recently realized the depths of my hypervigilance. It's a piece of the puzzle. Now it's time to try & work it out.
Thank you so much for your kind words and comment on the image. Best wishes to you.
