Description

Captured back on 8/3/2011, at the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific in beautiful Long Beach, California. Pterois is a genus of venomous marine fish, commonly known as lionfish, native to the Indo-Pacific. Pterois, also called zebrafish, firefish, turkeyfish or butterfly-cod, is characterized by conspicuous warning coloration with red, white, creamy, or black bands, showy pectoral fins, and venomous spiky fin rays. Pterois radiata, Pterois volitans, and Pterois miles are the most commonly studied species in the genus. Pterois species are popular aquarium fish. P. volitans and P. miles are a recent and significant invasive species in the west Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and Mediterranean Sea. Source: Wikipedia free encyclopedia. Can be deadly.

(I'm skipping again, so I can do more of your older uploads)...the light in these 2 shots is eye popping: You got a deep, saturated blue for the water; and the luminous whites of the fish really stand out by contrast. As do the purple stripes, etc. Plus the fish look almost like energy-wads moving through the water. I'm not sure what an "energy wad" is (I don't think Einstein ever referred to "energy wads"), but your capture makes the fish look as much like floating energies as actual flesh. Luminous, strange and almost miraculous to look at. Another fine marine capture from you.
