Description

2017/08/21 90% Eclipse, Wichita, KS, USA The Eclipse was very impressive. I took this from my home driveway after I got off work. Sadly, for my wife and grandkids, they drove to the 100% zone near Hiawatha, KS, but it was mostly overcast and rainy. They got only the briefest glimpse of the corona. I had a clear view of the Eclipse. Heading back home, they got stuck in 4mph-to-stalled traffic on the way. My wife is predicting that it will take them from 1:30pm to 8:00pm to go only 240 miles [approx. 386Km] due to traffic congestion. BTW, 170miles of the 240mi. is Turnpike with a 75mph [121 kph]. I used an ISO/CE approved filter on both my eyes and the camera lens. Thanks for viewing my gallery. Thanks for your comments. Sorry I haven't been able to make many comments lately. JC

There has been heavy traffic in all areas of the great USA in the best viewing areas. Oregon had amongst the worst the news said.

Cool capture, did not have a great one in co.

Yeah, that's why I opted to just watch from my front yard rather than fight the traffic to get to St. Joseph.. We got about 22 seconds of totality at my house, and I managed a few halfway decent shots, but none looking directly at the sun as I don't have the right filters.

Looks like you got a pretty decent shot here!
