Description
When I snapped this shot of the elderly lady slowly shuffling her way back home in December of 2006, I was taking my daily morning walks, full of vim and vigor, and trekking four or even five miles.
But times have changed. Very much so. Since then age has taken its toll and now I'm about where she is shown at that stage of life. For support I assume she confiscated that shopping cart somewhere along the line. Fortunately I still don't need any walking aids to rely on to be ambulatory. In any event, please excuse me while I go take my nap.

At first glance this senior citizen is a walking American Patriot (flag). Except for the fact she is pushing a stolen shopping cart.

Same kind of senior in France, sometimes with a shopping cart too.

I'm just back for a couple right now, Harry, but I had to do this one as well...as you know, I'm truly sorry for all you're dealing with, and it is amazing how a few years changes everything. Your capture of this woman has to touch every person who's ever known people like this, or every person who's ever been someone like this. You got her bent posture, her fatigue, and the sense that she's a brick, a mountain (of resolve), in order to traverse each day holding onto that stolen cart for support. And her outfit is amazing, with that bright red against that pale gray-blue, and her head scarf and cane...with no one else around. Fine street photography, you caught the loneliness and strength of her. Beautifully done. I'll be back for more soon...
