after so many color works, it was a real shock to see this, with it's stark black and whites and the subtler slate gray-blue sections. It's very striking, it looks like a big monster's face, with touches of de Kooning (in his rushed and angled lines), and yet it's also an abstract, with lots of energy and collision...like a big explosion coming out from the center. More highly impressive work from you, Steve.
