Description

Un amico mi ha inviato una simpatica E-Mail , chiedendomi(data l'etร  e la lunga e forzata assenza dal WEB)se io fossi ancora vivo!!! A friend sent me a nice email, asking me (given the age and the long and forced absence from the WEB) if I were still alive!!! Made the due wood, I reassured him promising that I would be back, as soon as possible, to post my "scribbles" on our favorite site. And here I am again, hoping to find again all the friends of all time. Nick. This work I dedicate to the drought that is being demolished in this period on my country causing serious damage to agriculture and great hardships to all of us!

Yes, I've read about the drought in Italia, and it sounds quite severe. I hope it ends soon. (And I agree with your comment about Trump: Trump is a disaster all by himself...) Your image evokes a drought very strongly---via your dried grasses, via those ominous birds (they look like buzzards, a little), via the scarecrow (spaventapasseri), via the man drinking water, and in that woman: Honestly, with that large scythe, she looks a little like a female death ghost...although maybe she's a farmer, trying to till her parched soil. It's an ominous image, and very well done (as all your images are): It definitely feels like a drought (siccitร ), and you created a real mood of desiccation and abandonment. It looks like you have an animal in back, but it might be a tree or even a sculpture...A haunting image. It's always good to see you here, whenever you're able to come back!

Thanks Anahata. C!

You have fully grasped the sense that I wanted to give to the image, which wants to represent the discouragement of many who work the Earth, but at the same time the hope that everything can return to normal and the woman, with the sickle in her hand, is going to spur her man to Miet To that little grains that drought has spared to keep on living!
