Hello !
My name is Helle. I live in Denmark on the Island, Zealand. I have a husband and two sons and three grandchildren, so I am a happy person.
I like many kinds of art and I try to limit myself, but I dont succeed very well. I love my PSP9 and I think I use it every day. I like to draw, paint and experiment on canvas or paper and I wish I had time do it every day. My biggest wish is, that there would be 48 hours instead of the poor 24 a day. I just dont think it will ever happen ;)
A fantastic new world opened for me, when I was Introduced to Renderosity for the first time. I am very grateful to be a part if this site.

Well done, Helle! Let's hope you don't suffer tomorrow.

oh, I know all about dealing with things which don't have good instructions, and you get halfway through and then you have to start all over again! (You know those "instruments" I play in my computer? When I make a music file of violins, or organs, or flutes? The companies who create those data-bases---they call them "soundbanks"---do the same thing: They give you incomplete instructions, they leave out MAJOR steps, and you go through hell and back to do, and then re-do, the installation, until you get it right. And these softwares aren't CHEAP---they can cost hundreds for one soundbank---and they're made by the high end pros of the field! Real pro stuff, huh! So I understand. At least softwares don't weigh anything, and you don't wake up with sore muscles...)
Anyway, I now see what you've been dealing with. And I can see the tools in the table next to this thing. That's a big shelf, Helle! I didn't know you meant something this tall. I can see why you've had a hard time. I hope Per can help you, if you need him too. But at least, when you're done, you'll have a huge set of shelves, which are very sturdy, and will hold whatever you want to put on them. (I love the lamp in the right side.) Your pic shines, and brings home what these monsters are like. Good luck, and I hope you don't hurt when it's all done, as andrea says...

Great capture of this labor of love, Helle. You did a yeoman's job assembling this monster, it was tiring and you needed medication. But I have news for you: I have never seen a book shelf like this; it appears to be what is called industrial shelving. Real book shelves are enclosed at the ends so the books won't fall out, and are made only of wood, or some kind of pressboard, and not metal. I have assembled many such items in the past, all by myself; television stands, book shelves, cabinets, computer desks, audio components, etc., with no problem. Sorry about your lame manual. Fortunately, I never had a problem with any manual or instructions. And I used only a minimum of tools, many of which were of a special design and included with the product.

Harry you got the word, but I couldnt find the word in english and I ended up believing, you didnt have other words for it, but you are totally right. It is Industrial shelving. Looked it up in google and saw alot of similar shelves to what I have. We are calling it Saette hylder op. Couldn´t translate that to other putting up shelves. Maybe that had been even better, than bookcases LOL! Thank you for solving this problem.

How satisfying to have completed one of them! You will be a real pro by the time you're done with the whole set. :) Bill and I have assembled many things together, including a free-standing porch swing, a garden cart, and a car-top carrier. The car-top carrier was the worst. It would have been MOST helpful to have a brilliant, dexterous, small child around while putting the hinges together! They could have crawled inside the thing and helped from the inside. Oh well. It's only a memory now, and we've had several years of good use from it! :) Soon the trouble you had putting these shelves together will be something in the past. Just think of all the things you can pile on those shelves now! :)

one can NEVER have enough shelving of any kind, I've found that after the first one goes up, the rest go up so quickly you wonder what happened

Bravo, Helle-friend ! You did a hell of a job, and I'm glad you had the energy to also take a picture of your formidable performance for us. Yes, I know it, the bill is presenting afterwards, but then you must anew look at what you've done, with so much to deal with, right? You're TOP!!!
