I finally finished my cursed render. Last week, I set Poser to do this 6-7 hour Field of Depth before I went to bed only to find that the power glitched (due to the 110f heat wave we had) three nights in a row! Undeterred, I tried twice last weekend, only to have to cut the render off because of evacuations twice (due to the LA Tuna Fire in Los Angeles-- fire got close about 400 yds from my home-- but we're all safe now). Today, the render finally succeeded :) So here's my leaf cutter ants... --- Leaf cutter ants are wide spread across tropical Central and Southern America. Their colonies have been found with up to 10 million workers. They come like most ants, in two sizes (Major and Minor workers). Minor workers are typically 0.31-0.47 inches (8-12mm) and the major workers are 0.7 inches (18 mm) in size. Leaf cutter ant workers have powerful mandibles that can cause a strong and painful bite. Major workers can even cut through leather. Leaf cutter ants can defoliate an entire tree in one day. They cut and carry leaves back to their nest where they create an environment ideal to grow a special fungus, which turns into a bread-like substance that they eat. They are responsible for destroying more vegetation than any other group of animals, as a result of this they cost the crop industry more than one billion dollars each year.
